We started playing together in June of 2004. The four of us met while attending a variety of youth events and
jamming with other musicians, it didn't take long for the four to emerge as a group and people starting asking us to
play for different church events.
S.H.A.R.C. now plays for summer camps, youth events, county fairs, and area festivals. Other performances include church
events, benefits and our own annual concert in the park "Sold Out for Christ" in Pleasant Hill.
Jason and Ahron are from Pittsfield, IL. Adam and Matt are from Pleasant Hill, IL . They are from three different church
denominations, but have come together to serve God while doing what they love, playing music. All of these young men have
musical backgrounds and have used that experience and knowledge along with God's grace to create what their fans know as S.H.A.R.C.
Matt was the first to bring an original song to the band and Jason followed shortly with two of his own. In the
fall of 2005, the band decided to make a CD for their fans. They wanted to put as many of their own songs as possible on the
CD, so Ahron joined in on the song writing by contributing two songs. The individual members bring their songs to the band
and band's arrangements are a group effort.
In the fall of 2005, the band members attended a Todd Agnew concert where they became sponsers of a little boy from Zimbabwe,
named Butholethu Sibanda. When the band received their information from World Vision about this little guy they were moved
by his story. This led to a song for Butholethu called "Stranger's Love".
The band took the summer of 2006 off from their summer jobs and devoted their time to serving God. They have
had an extremely busy summer with 5 weeks of summer camp plus other concerts. They have been very blessed with the
out pouring of interest for bookings and are now looking ahead to their spring/summer schedule for 2007.
JoyFM Christian Radio from St. Louis, MO took a mission trip to Matamoros Mexico in July, 2006. They asked
their listening audience to join them if they felt led to do so. S.H.A.R.C. learned of the trip and felt God was leading them
to go. They left July 15-21st(06) and had an awesome time. They were very excited about the opportunity to
serve God and were very blessed to go to Trinidad this summer(07) on their second mission trip-they think that mission
trips are the best! They are hopeful that more mission trips are in their future.
S.H.A.R.C. (Serving Him A Risen Christ) has now had many ups, downs, highs, and lows as a band. But they know that
as ministers for Gods kingdom, they should be willing to go and fill the needs that are out there. For the past few
years they have realized that they need not look far for those needs because God can work through them right here in the midwest.
